What kind of food does Double Crown serve?

A fusion of British and Southeast Asian cuisines.

What time do you serve dinner, how many days a week?

We serve dinner seven nights a week, and we serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Are there vegetarian options?

Our dinner menu currently offers two appetizers, one main course, and several side dishes that are vegetarian. These dishes can be adjusted to accommodate a vegan diet as well. Our brunch menu also includes many vegetarian options.

What time does the kitchen close?

The kitchen closes at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11pm Sunday through Thursday.

Can you accommodate large parties?

The restaurant is comprised of a private dining room, a main dining room, and a second dining room which may be booked exclusively. We can accommodate parties ranging from ten to 250 people. You may also consider our adjacent cocktail lounge Madam Geneva, which can accommodate up to 60 guests. When do you get cancellations?

This is difficult to predict. You can always call the night you wish to dine and the host will let you know if there are any last minute cancellations.

What is the wait time for walk-ins?

This varies greatly. You can always call ahead that evening and speak with our host, who will let you know how busy we are. From 7:00 to 9:30 is usually the busiest time. We also offer a full menu at the bar, and small plates are served in Madam Geneva as well.

Do you accept brunch reservations?

Yes.

What credit cards do you accept?

Most major credit cards: American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Diner’s Club.

Do you add gratuity to the check?

A 20% gratuity is added for parties of six or more.

What is the head chef’s name?

Chris Rendell is the Head Chef, Brad Farmerie is the Executive Chef.

Does the chef offer tasting menus?

Tasting menus can be arranged with 48 hours advance notice. Please contact our Special Events Manager, Liz Boothroyd, at 212-254-0350 or liz@doublecrown-nyc.com.

Can I bring in a cake?

Although we do not allow outside cakes and desserts, our pastry chef can create a custom cake for you with 48 hours advanced notice. The cost is $8.50 per person and requires a minimum of four people.

What is your wine corkage fee?

Our corkage fee is $25 per bottle.

What’s the dress code?

Casual.

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes, they are available in any denomination. Call 212-254-0350 for assistance.

Where can I park?

There is a parking lot across the street from Double Crown, on 1st Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery Street. A second lot is around the corner on Elizabeth Street between Houston and Bleecker Streets.

Who are the architects and designers?

AvroKO is behind the design, concept and branding of Double Crown. The team was awarded two James Beard Awards for PUBLIC in 2004, for “Best Restaurant Design” and “Best Graphics.”

How many seats does the restaurant have?

100 seats and 20 at the bar (as well as 54 seats in our Private Dining Room, and 30 seats outside).

Is Double Crown wheelchair-accessible?

Yes. The main entrance is wheelchair accessible and there is one wheelchair-accessible bathroom on the main floor. Unfortunately, our Private Dining Room is not wheelchair-accessible.
